Acceptable use
Last updated August 23, 2026. This sits alongside the terms of service.
Fine
- Transcribing your own recordings — lectures you attended, calls you were part of, videos you made
- Captioning content you have the rights to publish
- Working with openly licensed or public-domain material
- Research and journalism using material you may lawfully access
- Saving your own uploads back off a platform
Not fine
- Downloading someone else's work to re-upload, monetise or sell
- Bulk-harvesting a channel or catalogue you have no rights to
- Getting around a paywall, DRM or sign-in wall
- Submitting material that is unlawful, abusive, or sexual content involving minors
- Scripting the site, sharing accounts, or cycling browsers to dodge the free allowance
- Reselling access, or wrapping the service inside your own product, without written permission
What happens if you cross the line
First we usually ask you to stop. Serious or repeated breaches end the account, and infringement or illegal content ends it immediately without refund. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
